Corybas (orchid)
''Corybas'' is a genus of orchids (family Orchidaceae). , the World Checklist of Selected Plant Families accepts about 130 species native to Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea, Southeast Asia, the Himalayas, southern China, numerous islands in the Pacific, and a few sub-Antarctic islands between Australia and the Antarctic.〔(Kew World Checklist of Selected Plant Families )〕
The name of the genus is derived from the Greek κορύβαντος (korybantos), a male dancer, shown in illustrations wearing a crested helmet, who worshipped the goddess Cybele.
